The Storm Megazord is formed from the three Ninja Zords piloted by the Wind Rangers: Shane Clarke (Red Wind Ranger), Tori Hanson (Blue Wind Ranger), and Dustin Brooks (Yellow Wind Ranger). These Zords are unleashed when Lothor enlarges his monsters, forcing the Rangers to escalate the battle. The Megazord's primary arsenal consists of Power Spheres, which are activated by special ninja power disks. Later in the series, the Thunder Rangers—Blake and Hunter Bradley—bring their own Thunder Zords, and when they join the Wind Rangers, the Thunder and Ninja Zords combine to form the more powerful Thunderstorm Megazord. The Megazord also gains additional capabilities when Cam, as the Green Samurai Ranger, brings the Samurai Star Megazord, which is his personal Zord that combines with the Ninja Zords to form the Hurricane Megazord. A lost scroll later reveals the Lightning Riff Blaster, a powerful weapon used by the Megazord; however, the Mighty Mammoth Zord is summoned by a separate scroll and power disk, not by the Lightning Riff Blaster. This Zord can combine with the Thunderstorm Megazord or the Hurricane Megazord to form the Thunderstorm Ultrazord or the Hurricane Ultrazord.

In Their Own Story

When Lothor first demonstrates his ability to make his monsters grow, the Wind Rangers respond by unleashing their Ninja Zords. These three avian machines combine into the Storm Megazord, which uses Power Spheres—activated by ninja power disks—to destroy the enlarged monsters. As the season progresses, the Megazord faces greater threats: the Thunder Rangers initially attack the Wind Rangers, but after learning the truth about their parents' death—that Lothor, not Sensei, killed them—they join forces. The Thunder and Ninja Zords then combine into the Thunderstorm Megazord. Later, after Cam uses the Scroll of Time to retrieve the Samurai Amulet and becomes the Green Samurai Ranger, his Samurai Star Megazord combines with the Rangers' Zords to form the Hurricane Megazord. In the final battle, Lothor steals the Samurai Amulet and takes away all the Rangers' powers, but the Wind Rangers combine their inner ninja powers to overpower Lothor and throw him into the Abyss of Evil.
